About the project
INBORNS built CosKeeper to answer a question most shoppers cannot: what is actually in this bottle, and does any of it matter? The site takes the positions of regulators and researchers in the US, the EU and Taiwan and turns them into something readable in seconds — a product page where every ingredient carries a plain-language note, and the ones worth watching are marked.
I built the front end alone over about two and a half months, against the API from their own backend team. Next.js with the App Router and TypeScript, MUI for the interface, Zustand for state, with product pages, search results, and the newsletter and feedback flows around them.
Search took the most thought. Nothing on the site stands alone — a product is a list of ingredients, and an ingredient turns up across products — so a search term rarely points at a single destination. Getting a query to resolve to the right entity, and every result to lead somewhere worth going, was the real work.
